1. Start With Small Pieces of Inventory:

Start with small pieces of inventory. Begin with one item, such as a T-shirt or  pants. If you sell that item, you’ll know if you’re making money. You’ll also know if you need to expand your inventory.  

Overbuying inventory can be very costly. You can end up spending more money than you would if you had started with larger pieces of inventory.

Think about the types of businesses that you would like to be near. Will you be open 24/7? Do you want a fast food restaurant or a sit-down restaurant? Is the area close to public transportation?

 You should try to find a location that is close to transportation routes, so that you can reduce your costs.

 Another way of reducing your costs is to look for a location that is a bit far to a major city. This has bring you a very cheap cost as space rent and also find suppliers and customers like in big cities.

You should also consider the environment. Planning to start your business in a rural location, except much traffic.

 You may need to find a spot that isn’t already occupied by a competitor. it may be worth the time and effort to do some extra research on nearby competitors.

Contact your local retail businessman who are already established in the market. They can help you find the best deals on products, and able to help you build relationships with suppliers.

Build relationship to other retailers to take advantage of the power of a larger market. You can learn many thing from them, that will clear business complexion a lot. 

4. Do Some Research

Before starting a retail business, it’s important to do some homework. Use the internet for resources, case study, checklists, and so on.

Including how much money you want to start, plan on marketing, what kind of product, product selling price.

Sometimes you can sell product without any money. Contact the wholesaler to give you some product. You will pay them while you sold the products online. Many businessmen does agree with this plan and help newbie businessman who has money.
